    Jess!

Thanks to your tutorial I made my first slouchy beanie. It came out great. I too taught myself how to crochet and knit via online videos..I started November 2011 and I cannot stop…it’s so relaxing. In time I hope to get better and better.

I wanted to tell you that your items are all very beautiful !! and…I wanted to know what type of crochet hooks do you use…I like the one with the “comfort grip” on it….I’ve tried finding those but I’ve been unsuccessful. Any help?

Again, your items are great and you are very inspiring!

Hey Takeya ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks so much for watching and liking my love for crochet ๐Ÿ™‚ I use clover soft touch crochet hooks or Boye… if you want some thing with a nice grip purchase some pencil grips and put it on your crochet hooks ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for your YouTube videos. I also like that you have the written pattern available. Some crocheters like me have learned with a pattern and the videos are helpful but I still need a written guide. Again, thanks for your videos and keep sharing!

    Hi Jess and others,
I have been crocheting for over 60 years so thought I would say that it is refreshing to see young people taking up this very special and individual craft. As my older relatives and my mom said this is special and individual because no matter what pattern is used no two items ever come out the same. You will be able to see this if you make an item and then put the pattern away for a year or more. If you then do that pattern again you will find it does not look quite the same. Tension, color choices, type of thread or yarn and even our mood can affect the way a project comes out. One of the big changes for me came about when the Bedspread weight thread I used changed. Originally this thread was a size 8 and it is now considered a size 10. So if you decide to make any of the antique patterns available out there that give a size in Bedspread weight thread you now understand that the item you are making will be smaller than what was originally intended. Also if you have any questions about crochet that I might be able to help you with feel free to ask.
